Woodie H. Ray February 6, 1929 – February 11, 2018

Woodie H. Ray, beloved husband, father, granddaddy, and brother, was born in Dallas, Texas on February 6, 1929, the son of Mary Jack Ray and Woodie Ray, Sr.

He passed away on February 11, 2018 in Desoto, Texas, at age 89.

Woodie lived in Dallas and graduated from Sunset High School. He was committed to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully all his years. He and his family attended Beverly Hills Baptist Church for over 40 years. He started his career as a carpet layer, moved to First National Bank Dallas and One Main Place Dallas as maintenance and eventually locksmith, retiring in 1998. He was an Army veteran and served in Korea from 1951-1952.

He was married to the love of his life, Wanda Carpenter Ray for 58 years before her passing in 2010.

Woodie is survived by his children, Becky Ray, Jeff Ray and his wife Cheryl, whom he dearly loved, his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Ray who was the light of his life; also, his sister, Ann Garrett; brothers, James Ray and Eddie Ray; his many nephews and nieces; sisters-in-law, Pat Carpenter, Shirley Pitman and her husband John, and Judy Ray. The family would like to thank his nurse, Amanda; his physical therapist, Ashlee and Libby; and his aide, Sandra for the care and love given to their wonderful father.

Memorial services are 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Micah Young will be officiating.
