Women’s Soccer to Host NCAA Regional

Dallas Baptist University has been selected to host first and second round games for the NCAA Women’s Soccer National Championship, this coming Thursday and Saturday, announced Monday as part of the NCAA Selection Show.

he Patriots, the No.1 seed in the South Central Region, will be joined by fourth seed-Colorado Mines and fifth seed-Regis University (Colo.).

Colorado Mines and Regis will face off, Thursday at 6 p.m., in the tournament’s first game. The Patriots receive a bye as the top-seeded team and will play the winner of Thursday’s game, Saturday at 2 p.m.

Dallas Baptist enters the tournament at 18-2-0, winner of 14 straight games. The Patriots earned the Heartland Conference Regular Season Co-Championship, as well as the Tournament Title.

Colorado Mines (15-4-1) defeated Regis (13-5-2), 1-0, in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship to punch their ticket. Regis had previously earned the RMAC regular season title.

The winner of Saturday’s game will move on to the third round of the tournament, the round of 16, which would also be hosted by Dallas Baptist, if the Patriots advance.
