The 2012 Patriots concluded the regular season with an overall record of 16-2-0 and are currently riding a 12-game win streak. Their 9-1-0 conference mark tied St. Edward’s for the Heartland title.

The DBU women will travel to Austin, this coming week, for the conference tournament, being played at St. Edward’s, who won the host bid by tiebreak. Joining the Hilltoppers and Patriots are No.3 seed-Texas A&M International University, as well as No.4 seed-St. Mary’s

Tournament play begins Thursday, as DBU takes on Texas A&M International, a club they defeated twice in 2012, each time by a score of 3-1. St. Mary’s will challenge St. Edwards in the other game, Thursday.

With a win, the Patriots would advance to the championship, Saturday, taking on the winner of the other contest. DBU defeated St. Mary’s twice (2-0 each time), and split the season series with St. Edwards, losing 5-1 in Austin, before bouncing back to win 2-1 in Dallas. Game times for the tournament will be announced Monday.
