The Dallas Baptist Women’s Golf Team won their second straight tournament Tuesday and, this time, it was a national invite. The Lady Patriots won the National Christian College Athletic Association National Golf Tournament in Panama City, Florida by ten strokes over second-place California Baptist and by twenty-four strokes over the third place finisher, Bethel College.

Chelsey Sills shot the low round on the day for the Lady Patriots – and the low round amongst all tournament participants – with a four-over, 76. She finished second overall on the individual leaderboard which placed her on the All-Tournament Team. Joining her as an All-Tournament selection was Mercedes Rios who shot 78  to finish tied for third. Erin Barrington shot seven-over for the day with a 79 and Laken Trahan and Kailey Glenn finished with an 84 and 91 respectively.

“This is a great accomplishment for our program,” said NCCAA Coach of the Year Kenny Trapp. “Our kids have worked hard to earn this and it is great to see them rewarded for the time and effort they have put in – not only this year but in the years leading up to this day.”

The 36-hole event was hosted by Majestic Resort and The Hombre Golf Club. This was the second straight tournament victory for the Lady Patriots as they also won the DBU Classic on October 18. The NCCAA National Tournament was the final tournament this fall for the Lady Patriots as they prepare for the 2012 Spring Season which will begin in February.
