William Robert (Bobby) Shelton, born March 17, 1940 in Anniston, Alabama to Mother, Mary Alma Shelton and Father, Leonard W. Shelton.

He was a son, he was a motorcycle rider, he was a husband, he was a sailor, he was a soldier, he was dad, he was welder, he was college graduate, he was a teacher, he was grandpa, and he was a great grandpa. He loved working on his motorcycles and he loved riding them even more. A man of many talents, he built things with his own hands be it wood or metal.

He also loved to write stories. He served in both, the United States Navy and the United States Army and retired after 22 years of service. Went to college on his GI, then Bill and got an associated degree in Arts and Science from Mountain view College. He loved to help mom in the garden and raise vegetables. He raised his family working hard to provide a comfortable living – and never left us for needing anything. In a word he was a simple man. He loved us, his family, with all his heart, and now we will have an empty place in our hearts but we know we will see him again in Heaven.

As the Bible reminds us in the Book of John, Chapter 3, verse 16, “For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life”. In Chapter 16, verse 22, “So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice and no one will take your joy from you”.
