Welfare Check Results in Officer Involved Shooting

Duncanville – Duncanville police responded to a welfare check on a family member on Tuesday, March 20, at about 2 p.m. in the 200 block of Martin Luther Circle in Duncanville. According to police, the caller was at the same house.

Officer arrived and during the investigation a suspect was shot by a Duncanville police officer.

The suspect was transported to Methodist Medical Center and remains at the hospital in an unknown condition.

No officers were injured.

The Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers have been requested to investigate the shooting.

The name of the officer and suspect are not being released at this time.

The Texas Rangers advise that the investigation is ongoing and no additional information is currently available.
