A quick glance at the stats will show that DBU lost to Texas A&M International, 3-1, Thursday night in Laredo. It will also show that they only hit .120 as a team and that TAMIU had 101 digs. The Lady Patriots had chances to score, they just were not able to capitalize and will go into their final game of the regular season with a 15-15 record.

Krystal Wunderlich and Christian Steinkruger led the way for the Lady Patriots with 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Tyler Bradsher picked up 40 assists but it was not enough as DBU dropped the match 16-25, 25-20, 19-25, 28-30. The loss drops DBU to 7-6 in conference with a game in San Antonio on Saturday against St. Mary’s at noon.

Kaylyn Frink was again a bright spot for the Lady Patriots as she recorded 30 digs as a defensive specialist. Cameron Hartson had 17 digs while Steinkruger and Wunderlich joined them in double digits with 11 and 15 on the night. Kristin Secord helped the defense with a team-leading three blocks in the match.

The Lady Patriots hope to end the regular season with a record above .500 and will need to beat conference foe St. Mary’s on Saturday to do so.
