Vivian Sheetz – July 13, 1922/March 19, 2013

2151463_300x300Vivian Ione Nyrup Sheetz, age 90, passed away March 19, 2013, in Duncanville, Texas. She was born on July 13, 1922 in Sioux City, Iowa to Julius Petersen Nyrup and Alta Fay Gowery Nyrup.

After high school, Vivian attended business college and later took accounting courses and worked as a secretary and a bookkeeper throughout her adult life, including volunteering with Wycliffe Bible Translators and Time for Christ jail ministry. She married Dale E. Sheetz at Camp Swift, Texas on September 24, 1942 to whom she was married for 60 years. Vivian and Dale were dedicated Christians, and throughout their lives served others. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother: William Luvern Nyrup passing at birth on April 25, 1927.

Vivian is survived by daughters Sharon (Robert) Jimenez, Pam (Steve) Echerd and son Paul (Wanda) Sheetz. Vivian is also survived by seven grand children, Feliz Jimenez Warwick, Alicia Jimenez, Daniel Echerd, Jonathan Echerd, Traci Sheetz Reitchel, DavidSheetz, John Sheetz and 9 great grand children.

clayton_logoA service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home, 200 W. Center St., in Duncanville, Texas 75116.

Internment will immediately follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park in Duncanville.

In lieu of flowers, Vivian has requested that donations be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators.
