Duncanville started strong against the Warriors of South Grand Prairie, leading 4-0 after four innings and 4-2 after five, before SGP scores three runs in the sixth to go away with a 5-4 victory.

In the top of the first, Gabe Gonzales hit a single between first and second, followed by a double deep into right center by Alan Becerra that moved Gonzales to third. T.J. Gieselbach hit a double deep to left center to score both Gonzales and Becerra to give Duncanville a 2-0 lead.

In Duncanville’s half of the third inning Gonzales led off with a walk, and Becerra singled to left center to move Gonzales to third. Gonzales then scored on a passed ball to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead.

Duncanville’s fourth inning saw Benjamin Neal hit a single to left field and Jamaine Parks reached first due to an error on SGP’s second baseman, Jonathan Reyes. Deonte Lusk hit a single to left to score Neal and Duncanville took a 4-0 lead.

That would conclude all of Duncanville’s scoring, as the Warriors began their comeback, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth off a deep drive by Dakota Lyles, and singles from Garrett Sayre and Jeremy Alford to cut the score to 4-2.

In the sixth, the Warriors broke the game open on an error by Duncanville’s Gieselbach that allowed D.J. Williams to reach third, a single by John Davilla, and doubles by Tyler Deck, and Dakota Lyles that scored three runs and gave the Warriors a 4-5 lead.

Duncanville’s Michael Tamez reached first on a single in the seventh, with one out, but SGP’s Simon Sedillo got both Kyle Miller and Neal to fly out to end the game.

Duncanville takes on Naaman Forest on Saturday at 1pm at Panther Field, Mansfield Timberview on Tuesday at 7pm and Mansfield Legacy at 7pm next Friday; both at Panther Field, to close out their home games for the season. On Friday April 27 at 7pm the Panthers travel to Cedar Hill to close out the regular season at 7PM at Cedar Hill High School.
