Track and Field Heads to MSSU Early Bird

This Saturday, December 8th the Patriot Track and Field teams will be traveling to Joplin, Missouri for the Missouri Southern State University Early Bird Invitational. As the first Indoor Meet of the 2012-2013 season the Patriots are excited to use the meet as a measuring stick for their training and competition levels.

The Patriots used this meet last year to open their 2011-2012 season and did so by winning the Men’s Mile, Men’s 800 meters, and Men’s Distance Medley events. This weekend they are looking for that same success.

“We’re going to race everyone that’s healthy this weekend. Some of our athletes have never run on an Indoor Track and so we’re using this meet to introduce them to that. It’s also a good way to end the fall semester for our Track athletes that have been working out with no competitions,” said Head Coach Jake Phillips.

The meet will start at 5pm on Saturday, December 8th. Results can be found at
