DBU Track and Field Competes in Two Meets on Weekend

The Dallas Baptist University Patriot Track and Field squads took part in two track meets this past weekend: the Victor Lopez Track Classic hosted by Rice University on Friday night and the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational in Arlington, Texas on Saturday. The Patriots had five Top-10 finishes on the weekend.

At the Victor Lopez Track Classic on Friday night, senior Zach Morgan and freshman Glynnis Meade led the way in the 10,000 Meters. Morgan set a personal best running 32:20.08 while finishing 5th overall. Meade was 6th in the women’s race with a personal best time of 39:22.31. Joshua Pauley was also 9th in the men’s race.

Freshman Kelsey Bruce and senior Linet Kibet led the way at the UTA Bobby Lane Invitational on Saturday in the Women’s 3000 Meter Steeplechase. Bruce was 5th overall with a personal best of 11:28.40, while Kibet was 10th in a personal best of 12:35.70. The Patriots also saw personal bests in the steeplechase from freshmen Sarah Rayas(12:36.40) and Jameson Tomlin (10:29.30).

Tawnee Wimsatt, Women’s 5000 Meters – 19:37.23 – Personal Best
Tiffany Brown, Women’s 5000 Meters – 19:48.71 – Personal Best
Thrystan Tate, Men’s 400 Meters – 51.27 – Season Best
Jordan Koser, Men’s 1500 Meters – 4:08.13 – Season Best

The Patriots are off this weekend but will compete at the David Noble/Angelo State Relays on April 5th and at the UNT Twilight on April 7th.
