The Snapshot Seen ‘Round the World

Congratulations to Duncanville High School junior Chase Apperson – his photography skills have earned national recognition as a Snaps for Cash contest winner.

Snaps for Cash is sponsored by Home Team Marketing, and asks students across the nation to submit a photo or photos each week of their sports teams, cheerleaders, or booster squads with a school sponsor signs in the photo. Chase took a picture of the Wolf Brand Chili sign and DHS football players at the October 14 home against game South Grand Prairie. His photo was chosen as a winner from several national submissions.

“The winner this week was involved in the closest vote we’ve had thus far this year,” remarked Danny Chalhoub, director of the Snaps for Cash contest.  “We are pleased to announce that the winner comes from the Lone Star State of Texas in Duncanville.”

As a prize, the DHS Panther Prints journalism department will receive a $500 check from Home Team Marketing, and Apperson’s winning photo will be used by the Marketing team to promote their school sponsorships.

“My students do an outstanding job covering our school sports teams every week,” said DHS Journalism Advisor James Rich.  “Winning contests like this is just an added bonus that recognizes the students for all the hard work they do.”
