The Panther Cross Country teams had a great Friday at the Charger Invitational in Keene.

The Varsity boys team placed 5th out of 17 schools. In a field of 104 runners, junior Guillermo Tobar finished 9th running the 5k course in 16:52. He was closely followed by Nick Sanchez, Jonathon Hodge, Terence Mitchell, Jose Martinez and Edgar Gonzalez who all ran the course in under 18:00.

The JV boys team won the meet finishing first out of 18 teams. The team all finished in the top 30 of 145 runners. Medalists on the team were Juan Solis was 4th, Roberto Garcia was 6th, Caleb Mancia was 10th, and Hector Segura was 15th. They were closely followed by Miguel Rentaria in 17th, Austin Kristofitz in 21st and Joel Andrade in 29th.

The Varsity girls team placed 2nd overall out of 17 teams. Anna Salazar placed 3rd, running the 2 mile course in 11:48. Hannah Tobias placed 5th, CiCi Mora was 24th. Hannah Hinton, Francis Gallimore, Osharrah Daniel, Sarah Green and Jennifer Moloughney rounded out the team.

The teams next meet is on Thursday Sept. 15 at the James Smith Invitational Meet in Midlothian
