garza_smith_1356112861Tammie Arlene Smith was fully dedicated to her mother and sister and she was a loyal and true friend.  She generously offered what she could with what she had to give.  In life, her name proceeded her where ever she went.  She was known as feisty, determined, and purposely lived life with a no holds barred attitude.  Tammie loved life, but most of all she loved: her family, her niece and nephew, and Galveston.

jaynesTammie is survived by her mother, Darlene Williams and Step-dad Wayne Williams and her dad, Roger (Dugan) Smith and Step-mom, Pat Smith.  She is survived by her little sister, Elizabeth Podany and her brother in law JR.  She leaves behind her “world”; niece Hallie Podany, 11 and nephew Dawson Podany, 7.

She fought a brave, heroic fight with cancer, beginning in 2002.  She never acted sick and never let her battle with cancer get in the way of her dedication and adoration of her favorite niece and nephew.

A visitation service will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 at Jaynes Funeral Home in Duncanville from 6pm – 8 pm.  The service for Tammie Smith will be held at Jaynes Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2pm.  Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas, TX.  Tammie will be laid to rest at the feet of her grandfather, Leland Thomas.
