cartwrightSkip (Ganem K.) Cartwright, age 77, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 in Dallas, TX. He is survived by his wife, Landa; mother, Alice; several children, step-children and grandchildren; 9 siblings; and extended family and friends too numerous to list individually. He was born in Wisconsin and had lived in the Dallas area for the past 25 years.

He was active in the Dallas area 82nd Airborne Association and served as Chapter President for several years. He was also involved with and active in the Godley United Methodist Church.

Skip joined the Army in 1956 and served honorably in Korea on the DMZ and in Viet Nam as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in Vietnam.

Skip was “larger than life”. He loved his family and was happiest when cooking for them or sharing his love of horseback riding with them and leading grandchildren around on his favorite horse, Twister.

Graveside services are 1:30 pm, Friday, March 18, 2016, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
