gladdenSharon Gaylene Hawkins Gladden died peacefully in Duncanville, Texas on December 5, 2015, at the age of 73.

Sharon is survived by her son, Danny Gladden and wife, Rae of Greenville, Texas, her daughter Lisa Butler of Duncanville, TX; her grandchildren (from Danny and Rae) Chase, Shade and Makenzie of Greenville, Texas; her granddaughters, (from Lisa) Heather Lasco and her husband, Richard; Savannah and Chloe Butler all of Duncanville, Texas; and her sisters, Debbie Hawkins and Janet Jones.

She was preceded in death by her father, Horace Robert Hawkins, and mother, Genevieve Ophelia Hawkins, of Greenville, Texas.

Sharon was born on July 10, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Robert and Genevieve Hawkins. She graduated from Buchanan Foundation School of Nursing in 1962 with a degree in Nursing. She returned to school and graduated from East Texas State University in 1979 with a degree in Education. During her lifetime, she was married to John D. Gladden Sr., and to Joe Harrell, both now deceased. After moving to Chinle, Arizona, Sharon began working for Chinle High School, where she helped develop what is today a thriving nursing program.

jaynesA memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Pastor Keith Brister will be officiating the ceremony.
