Secord, Papadeas Earn All-Conference Honors

By vote of the league coaches, Dallas Baptist Senior Kristin Secord and Sophomore Erika Papadeas have been named to the 2012 All-Heartland Conference Volleyball Team. Secord, from White Oak, Texas, finished the regular season ranked in the Top 3 in the Heartland Conference in attack percentage (second, .311), kills per set (third, 3.49) and blocks per set (third, 1.10). Papadeas, from Chandler, Arizona, followed her teammate closely in the offensive categories by averaging 2.86 kills per set abd hitting at a .206 clip. Papadeas also collected 2.54 digs per set, second highest on the team.

The Lady Patriots closed out the regular season with an 11-3 record in conference play, good for a No. 2 seed in the Heartland Conference Tournament. That tournament in slated to begin Friday, November 16, as DBU faces off against St. Edward’s in Fort Smith, Arkansas at 7:00 pm. The championship game will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the winner earning an automatic bid to the South Central Region Tournament.
