Sammy Charles Bryant February 25, 1944 – March 21, 2016

bryantSammy Charles Bryant went to join his family in Heaven on March 21st at the age of 72. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Texas on February 25, 1944.

He often shared funny stories and memories of spending many days as a child playing all over the town of Mt. Vernon.

Sammy worked for Dixico, Inc. for 13 years as a typesetter. He then spent 17 years with Cesco, Inc. as a typewriter repairman. He rounded out his career and retired from Trinity Industries, hauling bridge beams. Sammy had talent and passion for woodworking. He also loved to vacation in Branson!

He is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Jeanne Bryant; brother Hugh Bryant and wife Linda of Fairview, Texas; sisters-in-law Billie Bryant Schultz and Karen Sue Bryant. Children include daughters: Donna Bryant of Duncanville, Texas ; Sharla Ellison and husband Todd of Dallas, Texas; Bridgette Ashmore and husband Kyle of Midlothian, Texas; Matthew Bryant and wife Jill of Bristol, Texas; grandchildren Cody and Alyssa Ashmore; Madison and Presley Bryant; Matt and Kaytee Ellison. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Sammy was preceded in death by his father Frank and mother Willie Bryant; brothers: Morris, Horace, George, and Jerrell Bryant; sisters: Marie Williams and Katy Edwards Norris.

jaynesVisitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at Jaynes on March 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial services will be held at Providence Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Texas at 3:00 p.m.

Providence Cemetery is located on County Road 3070 west of Hwy 37.
