diersRuth Jane Diers, 83, of Cedar Hill, TX, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, entered heaven on Wednesday, 16 March.

Ruth Jane Pauli was born on September 23, 1932 in Wheatland, WY to Philip and Molly Pauli. She was the third of their nine children. She grew up on a farm just west of Wheatland. When she was fifteen she left home to move to the hospital in Wheatland to become a nurse. At 19 she met the love of her life, Bill Diers. Following a brief courtship, they were married on February 22, 1952 by a Justice of the Peace at the courthouse in Cheyenne.

Following their marriage they moved to Guernsey, WY where, over the next seven years they were blessed by the arrival of their three children, Dean, Marla, and Randy. Ruth was a stay-at-home mom. In addition to enjoying time with her husband and children, she also enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and helping in her children’s school classrooms.

In 1962 the family moved to Leadville, CO where Ruth continued in her role as stay-at-home mom and classroom volunteer while enjoying various hobbies.

Bill and Ruth moved their family to Loveland, CO in 1967 where Ruth first began to work outside the home. In 1968 she began working at Hewlett Packard. Over the next few years she completed her GED and an Applied Associates degree to become an Electronics Technician.

She retired from Hewlett Packard in 1989 and Bill retired shortly afterward at which point they moved into a time of extensive travel, volunteer work, and focused time with their growing family as their children married and presented them with grandchildren. Ruth was an amazing grandmother whose greatest joy was found in spending time with her grandchildren creating many special memories along the way.

Ruth found great pleasure in the creative arts and in volunteering as the manager of the gift shop at the local hospital. She and Bill opened a craft business together and Ruth became a gifted floral designer creating countless wedding bouquets and centerpieces.

Ruth loved God, His Word, and her church family. She was a regular participant in Bible Study Fellowship and her Sunday school class, serving as a Stephen ministry while living in Forest Lake, MN from 2001 to 2007.

In 2007 Bill and Ruth moved to Cedar Hill, TX where Ruth joined Hillcrest Baptist Church. They became regular members of Dr Trammell’s Sunday school class and Ruth participated in women’s group activities.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Bill; sisters Kathy Shultz of Colorado Springs, CO and Sue Rohweder of Cheyenne, WY, brother Harry Pauli of Burns, WY; sons Dean (and Joey) of Stevensville, MT and Randy of Lindstom, MN, daughter Marla (and Brett) Shideler of Duncanville, TX; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

jaynesVisitation with the family is 2-4 pm Sunday, March 20, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are 9:30 am, Monday, March 21, 2016, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, TX with burial at DFW National Cemetery to follow.
