Roy William Fouts, Jr was born July 31, 1940 in Dallas, Texas to Roy & Mattie Ray Fouts. He passed away suddenly on September 8, 2012.

Roy is survived by his loving & devoted wife of 23 years, Linda; son, Roy William Fouts III of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter & son-in-law, Dena & Grant Reid of Austin, Texas; step-daughter & husband, Jennifer & Chad Cage of Richardson, Texas; step-son, & wife, Joe & Jen Rozgay of Omaha, Nebraska; sister & brother-in-law, Mary Lu & Don Patterson of Midlothian, Texas; nephew & wife, Roy & Julia Armstrong of Taos, New Mexico; niece & husband, Mary Anne & Larry Ross of Midlothian, Texas. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Bonnie & Emily Fouts, Haley, Kellan & Josie Rozgay; Cole & Cason Cage along with numerous cousins.

Roy attended school in Duncanville from 1st through 10th grades and graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1958. He received his BBA from Southern Methodist University in 1962.

After graduation he joined the US Navy. He was commissioned as Ensign, served on board the USS Henrico and in Beachmaster Unit One. He retired from Exxon Mobile in 2002 after 34 years of service where he met and created many enduring and wonderful friendships.

After retirement, he served on the Ellis County Appraisal Review Board and was currently serving as Chairman for the third year.

Roy believed in and loved his God and country first and foremost. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & brother. He always respected and valued the opinions of others and had a deep and endless passion to mentor and inspire others’ talents and traits, particularly his devoted wife who loved, respected and appreciated him the most. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Duncanville where he had many dear friends who he had known and loved since childhood. His parents and his sister & brother-in-law, Iris & Bob Armstrong, preceded him in death.

Funeral Service is 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Duncanville, 403 S. Main Street. Burial will follow at Little Bethel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:00 PM on Monday at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville
