Regular Season Ends With Sweep of Texas A&M-Intl.

On the final day of the regular season, the Dallas Baptist Lady Patriots (19-8, 11-3) stormed to a straight-set victory over Texas A&M International (15-11, 7-7) in Heartland Conference play. The win secures a second place finish for DBU in the conference as they get set for next week’s conference tournament hosted by Arkansas-Fort Smith.

Saturday afternoon was the final home game for senior Kristin Secord after a stellar four-year career with the Lady Patriots and she did not disappoint. The four-year starter from White Oak, Texas, recorded a game-high 17 kills and picked up 12 digs to go along with three blocks to lead DBU to the three wins 25-19, 25-22, and 25-16. Erika Papadeas was the other Lady Patriot in double-digits with 12 kills while Cameron Hartson led the way on the back row with 19 digs. DBU hit at a .339 clip while holding International to just a .186 attacking percentage. Tyler Bradsher andKaycie Bird split the setting position with 22 and 19 assists, respectively.

The Heartland Conference Tournament will begin Thursday, Novemebr 15, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, as UAFS was the pacesetter in the Heartland Conference this season. Opponents and times will be announced and fans can follow the action at for the latest updates.
