Police Chase Causes Traffic Snarl for Morning Commute

A police chase involving suspects from an apparent robbery in Cedar Hill caused problems for morning commuters on Hwy 67 Friday morning.

According to reports, what started as a gas station robbery in Cedar Hill led to a police chase shortly before 7:30am.

The suspects fled north on Hwy. 67 and were involved in a minor wreck at Hwy 67 and Danieldale and a major accident at Hwy 67 and Cockrell Hill Road. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit when he was tasered by Cedar Hill Police.

The male suspect that committed the robbery got behind the wheel of the car and fled again, but abandoned the car a short time later near Gannon Drive in Dallas. The suspect and a female passenger fled the car on foot at that location, and the female was apprehended in that area when she had a seizure and collapsed.

Duncanville Fire Department paramedics transported two children to Children’s Medical Center and one adult to Methodist Medical Center that were involved in the accident at 67 and Cockrell Hill.

A weapon that was possibly used in the robbery was recovered inside the vehicle and the male suspect is still at large.
