Pineapple Hand Grenade Found in a Vacant House

On March 1, 2012 shortly before noon, officers with the Duncanville Police Department responded to a possible bomb call in the 200 block of Moore Street, in Duncanville.

A property owner had been cleaning out a recently vacated home and found what was described as a pineapple hand grenade in a closet. The owner had brought the grenade out of the house and placed it in the front yard of the home and called police.

The Dallas Police Department’s Bomb Squad was called and after examining the grenade it was determined to be non-functional and collected the device to destroy at a safe location.

There will be no further investigation as the previous tenant recently passed away.
