Meet Pirate!

Med-Pirate-POWWell blow me down, this pup still needs a home!  This handsome lad be a 7-year-old Retriever/Chow mix.  He be very gentle and calm, and knows how t’ sit, shake, and down like a champ.  He be lookin’ for a ship t’ take over and make his furever home as yer First Mate…could it be yours?  He already be vaccinated and had his rubies removed, so he be ready to ship out today!  Row on down today and meet this might fine mate!

Pirate’s adoption fee has been reduced form the usual 75 gold pieces and he be a steal at only 30 gold pieces!  All adoptions be be includin’ initial vaccinations (includin’ rabies), de-wormins, heartworm testin’ (fer dogs), microchippins with registrations, a collar with tag, cardboard cat carrier for cats, and an offer for a 30-day gift of free pet health insurance.

*Please note that adoptions are on a first come basis and advertised pets may not be available when you arrive, but there are many, many more pets searching for a good home who would like to meet you!

SPECIAL EVENTS AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

  • Lobby: Hosts and greeters to help answer questions and show customers around
  • Front Desk: Answering phones, data entry, filing, customer serviceTransporters: Needed to help drive pets to other adoption facilities, or to the vet, and injured wildlife to rehabilitation centers (vehicle can be provided)
  • Foster Families: We are in need of some foster families to care for puppies and kittens that are too young to go up for adoption, or adults that need home obedience training or medication

1ST ANNUAL BARKS-N-BBQ BENEFITTING CEDAR HILL PET MEMORIAL PROJECT

When: Saturday, May 30, 2pm-6pm
Where: Virginia Weaver Park, 631 Somerset Dr, Cedar Hill
Cost: $5.00

Come join us at at the 1st Annual Barks-N-BBQ, benefitting the Cedar Hill Pet Memorial Project. Enjoy live music and DJ and participate in activities including: bounce-house, Most Obedient and Owner Look-A-Like contests, dog obedience demos, raffle drawings, and more! Mobile vet services will also be in attendance and the first 50 attendees will receive a CHPM pet bandana!

BIG MACHINE EXPO-ZULA B. WYLIE PUBLIC LIBRARY

When: Thursday, June, 11, 10am-12:30pm
Where: Zula B. Wylie Public Library, 225 Cedar St, Cedar Hill
The whole family is invited to attend this exciting summer kick-off. Come explore the big machines, trucks, fire trucks, and other vehicles that help our community stay safe and healthy!!!

PETSMART NATIONAL ADOPTION WEEKEND

When: Saturday, June 20, 12pm-4pm
Where: PetSmart, 2525 W. Wheatland Road, Duncanville, TX.

Come out and meet your new best friend! For every adoption, PetSmart Charities will make a $35 donation to the shelter. Come on by and help make your adoption make an even bigger impact on pets’ lives. MONTHLY VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

When: Saturday, June 20, 2015, 3pm-4pm
Where: Tri-City Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, 1150 E. Pleasant Run Rd., Cedar Hill

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or need to complete community service for school, you must submit your ID and volunteer application before signing up to attend our monthly volunteer orientation, which is held the 1st Saturday of each month. Volunteers 10-15 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian who is also a volunteer. Please bring your ID, a guardian’s ID if you are under 18, and a completed volunteer or student application, which you can pick up at the shelter or print out online on the Cedar Hill website under the animal shelter volunteer section.
