Pet of the Week Adoption Fee: $25 (What a PAWSome price!)
This week’s pet of the week is Cooper, our own two year old purr machine. Cooper came into our shelter about a month ago as an owner surrendered pet, and was fostered by one of our staff members for a few weeks to give him some away from the shelter, and to get to know him a little better. He’s patiently waiting at our shelter for his new fur-ever home!
Cooper may be shy at first, but after a few days of settling in, he will come out from his shell and show you his true colors. He absolutely LOVES people, and is very much a lap kitten. He loves to love people so much you will probably wake up in the middle of the night with Cooper purring next to you.
Cooper lived with two other dogs while staying at his foster home, one small Lhasa Apso, and a larger Husky mix. Cooper doesn’t seem to love dogs, but he definitely tolerates them. He never showed any signs of aggression or tried to attack either dog, but he did interact with them much either. He does seem to be more comfortable around smaller dogs rather than big, intimidating ones. He also doesn’t seem to mind living with other cats either.
One dislike Cooper does have is being locked in a room. He would prefer to have free access to the house, because otherwise he will get bored and will get very creative with ways to entertain himself, specially with your carpet. As long as he’s happy and showered with love, he will be A-OK and will not have to play one of his games with your furniture.
Cooper has always been an inside only cat, and he would prefer it to stay that way. He would be a great fit for a home that is looking for a lap kitty to give them love, one that is laid back and is not too active for him, and one that has small or no other pets.
Cooper does not discriminate with his love, and if you’re willing to shower him with love, you will find yourself a new, life-long family member!
Adoption fees are normally $75, but when you adopt the Pet of the Week, you save $50 and still get all the benefits of a normal adoption including: vaccinations, de-worming, heart worm test (for dogs), microchip with registration, a collar with tag, cardboard cat carrier (for cats), and an offer for a 30-day gift of free pet health insurance.
