Pet of the Week – August 19, 2015

Filed under: City,Pet of the Week |

Meet Eddie!

POW! BOOM! BAM! It’s a hard-knock life for some, it’s a hard-knock life for some!

unnamedLife dealt poor little Eddie a hard deck of cards. This little street urchin was found abandoned at the shelter, hiding underneath a pickup truck!

He is a very sweet and gentle boy, but is such a ‘fraidy cat, he was just too nervous to participate in the Clear the Shelter event this weekend! Poor baby!

A foster mama took him home for the weekend and HE DID GREAT! He was happy, loving, and just worshipped the grandchildren!

As Pet of the Week, he will be available for adoption for only $25!

Maybe we’ll see you, tomorrow, tomorrow, he’ll love you, tomorrow….

Clear the Shelter was a HUGE success, but we still have 8 dogs and 8 cats that did not find homes! For the next week, we will extend the waived adoption fees for these pets to help them find their furever homes!

!!Condolences and Best Wishes!!

unnamed (2)We would like to extend our condolences and best wishes to Mrs. Jan Hitchborn and her family for the recent loss of her husband, Mr. Jim Hitchborn. They have both been unwavering supporters of pets in need and have opened their home and hearts to countless animals, as well as spending countless hours volunteering and donating to various organizations. Mr. Jim will be greatly missed, but we know that the sun will now shine brighter across the Rainbow Bridge.

The shelter is currently in desperate need of non-clumping kitty litter (clumping litter can clump in pesky and inconvenient places)!

Other items the shelter always needs are:

  • Dry dog/puppy/cat/kitten food
    (Costco’s Kirkland/Purina One)
  • Paper towels
  • Dish detergent/bleach
  • Office Supplies
  • Gift cards to Walmart, Costco, or Staples

!!Clear the Shelter Update!!

‘Beat the Rush’ adoptions: 39
Clear the Shelter Day: 75

Thank you to all of the employees, volunteers, adopters, and community members who helped make this event a success!
