Patriots Win Semi-Final Game of NCCAA Regional

The day after seven players scored in double digits against Crowley College, the Dallas Baptist Patriots (17-13) almost duplicated the feat with five players recording ten or more points in a 90-74 over Oklahoma Wesleyan ( in the semi-final game of the NCCAA Regional Tournament in Lakewood, Colorado. Nick Fox scored a game-high 22 in 26 minutes of action while TJ Clark added 16 on 5-7 shooting and 3-3 from three-point range.

The Patriots led by seven at the half and were able to hold Oklahoma Wesleyan to 40% shooting for the game as they slowly increased that lead in the second 20 minutes. DBU found their way to the free throw line 35 times during the contest, converting on 26 of those chances (74%). In contrast, Wesleyan only shot 16 free throws, making 10. DBU also held a 39-33 rebounding advantage, including 31 defensive rebounds. Ryan Marsh led the Patriots with five boards.

Armie Lewis and Marsh chipped in 11 points while Jordan McGowen added 10 as DBU now awaits the winner of tonight’s other semi-final game between host Colorado Christian and fellow-Texas institution Southwest Assemblies of God. The winner of that game will meet the Patriots Friday afternoon at 6:00 om (CST) for a chance to advance to the NCCAA National Championship next week.
