The Dallas Baptist Patriots (9-15, 5-7) traveled with Laredo, Texas, on Saturday to take on Texas A&M-International (15-10, 8-5) and fell just short, 66-63. DBU made an effort late to tie the game, coming back from down 11 with five minutes to play but their final play of the game did not result in a shot and the Dustdevils walked off the court with a win. Nick Fox scored 22 in the losing effort while Cory Carden and Charles Allen were the only other two Patriots in double-digits as they each scored 10. Remy Ndiaye led the Patriots with six rebounds while Jason Gentry handed out eight assists.

rp_primary_DSC_8177Neither team could get much of a lead throughout the contest as DBU had leads of four and five in the first half only to see the game tied at the half. In the second half, TAMIU stretched the lead to as many as 11 but could not put the Patriots away. DBU scored ten straight points in the final four minutes to make it a one-point game at 64-63 with 1:29 left to play. DBU would miss two shots late, however, with a chance to take the lead and TAMIU would make a couple free throws late to cement the final score.

DBU will return home for their final two games of the season beginning Thursday, February 28. That game is set for a 7:00 pm start and Senior Day will be held Saturday, March 2, beginning at 2:00 pm. Fans can purchase tickets at dbutickets.com or at the Burg Center Box Office. Both games will have live broadcast on dbupatriots.com/showcase.
