No. 15 Dallas Baptist got back in the win column, after their 12 game win streak was snapped on Sunday, with an 11-6 victory over Abilene Christian at Crutcher Scott Field on Monday night.  A six RBI night from Tagg Duce paved the way for the DBU (19-3) offense, as Duce delivered a three-hit night and belted his second home run of the year.

Facing each other for the first time since 2005, DBU jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the Wildcats through the first three-and-a-half innings.  A three-run first sparked the Patriot offense, as Justin Wall laced an RBI single and Tagg Duce drove in two runs on a base hit to left.

In the second, the Patriots added two more runs, including a bases loaded walk to Chane Lynch and another RBI single by Duce.  DBU would extend the lead to 6-0 in the fourth when Daniel Salters drove in a Trooper Reynolds on a single back up the middle.

After freshman, Gavin Fritz, made his exit following three shutout innings in the first start of his collegiate career, ACU tacked on four runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Patriot lead to two.   DBU would respond with  a two-out rally in the fifth, as DBU scored two runs on a pair of wild pitches, followed by a three-run shot over the center field wall by Duce to open up a 11-4 lead.

A two-run double from ACU’s Alex Copeland in the bottom half of the fifth cut the Patriot lead to five and would be the last runs of the night for either team, as the DBU bullpen came on to close the door.  In the sixth, DBU senior, Jay Calhounentered and tossed two scoreless frames, while striking out three, before Sean Stutzman and Brandon Koch closed out the final two innings.
