Patriots in 13th at DBU Invitational, Johnson Two Shots Back of Leader

The Patriots fired rounds of 293 and 286 in day one of the DBU Invitational at the Golf Club of Dallas on Monday. The team currently sits in 13th place and is led by Senior Brandon Johnson who fired a two round, three under par 137 (70-67), and currently stands just two shots off the lead in third place.

“It was fun to watch Brandon play today,” shared Head Golf Coach Kenny Trapp. “He really got it going in round two today.”

Freshman Luke Thacker also displayed a solid performance for the Patriots today with his two round total of 147, good enough for a current 65th place position.

Freshman Jamie Youree fired a 148 total (73-75), Junior Austin Struble added with a 150 total (78-72), and SophomoreCharles Gibson rounded out the Patriots efforts today with his 150 total (76-74).

The Patriots will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10, for round three at the Golf Club of Dallas.
