The Patriot Golf Team capped off the NDNU Argonaut Invitational by firing a closing round 311 on Tuesday at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, California.  Senior Brandon Johnson followed up his opening day two-under par 142, with a closing round three-over par 75 to finish in a tie for third.

Johnson, who finished just one shot back of a three-way tie at first place and a sudden-death playoff, recorded his first top-three finish of the 2011-2012 season.  “I was really proud of Brandon and how he handled himself out on the course this week,” stated Head Golf Coach Kenny Trapp.

Also contributing for the Patriots and performing solidly was Sophomore Charles Gibson, who fired rounds of 74, 77, and 76 (227), recording his first top-15 finish of the spring season.  Freshman Jamie Youree finished in a tie for 32nd place (78-78-81), Junior Austin Struble notched a tie for 37th place (77-80-84), and Junior John Olin recorded a 37th place finish (86-77-79).

Also competing for the Patriots was Freshman Luke Thacker, who recorded a top-25 finish with rounds of 81, 77, and 73, respectively.
