The Dallas Baptist Patriots held a six point advantage in their game Thursday night in Dallas against St. Mary’s but saw the Rattlers score the final nine points of the game to win, 72-69. Jordan McGowen and Ryan Marsh both scored a game-high 17 points to lead DBU but it was not enough as the Patriots shot 38.5% in the second half and turned the ball over 16 times overall. They forced 17 turnovers of their own but were outrebounded 32-22 in the contest. St. Mary’s shot 50% on the night, including 60% from the field in the second half.

DBU had a chance to tie the game in their final possession. The Patriots also missed an uncharacterstic seven free throws while only going to the line 18 times. Lewis did score 11 points on the night and picked up four steals.
