A day after losing their opening round game of the NCCAA National Tournament, the Dallas Baptist Patriots found themselves on the short end of the scoreboard again, this time falling to Trevecca Nazarene, 88-75. Wednesday afternoon it was poor shooting on the offensive end that led to the loss. Thursday afternoon, it was hot shooting in the second half by their opponent.

DBU took a four point lead into halftime after leading for most of the first 20 minutes. Trevecca would tie the score early in the second half, though, and take control of the game with a ten point run over a three minute period to lead 64-54 with 9:35 left to play in the game. A Jordan McGowen three pointer cut that lead to seven but TNU answered with a three of their own and finished the second half shooting 70% in the final twenty minutes and almost 60% for the game. Every comeback attempt by the Patriots was answered with a big basket from Trevecca, who maintained a double-digit lead most of the final ninety seconds.

Armie Lewis finished the game with 15 points while a trio of Patriots (Nick FoxRyan Marsh and Russ Johnson) each scored 14. The Patriots will play their final game of the tournament, and of the season, Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
