The Dallas Baptist University Patriot Track & Field teams had a busy weekend with competitions at the David Noble/Angelo State Relays and at the University of North Texas Spring Classic. The weekend consisted of a record-breaking performance, two individual championships, and 15 top-10 finishes.

The Patriots were 10th in the both the Men’s and Women’s team rankings at the David Noble/Angelo State Relays on Thursday. The Lady Patriots were led by Freshman Kelsey Bruce who recorded an individual championship in the women’s 3000 meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 11:23.97. Teammate Linet Kibet was third overall in the event with a personal best of 12:19.66. Junior Ashley Spivey set a personal best of 4:55.55 in the women’s 1500 meter run to place seventh overall, while Freshman Glynnis Meade was eighth overall in the women’s 5000 meter run in a time of 18:28.74. Bruce was also ninth in the women’s 5000 meter run.

The men were led by Sophomore Joshua Pauley‘s school record effort in the men’s 1500 meter run. Pauley recorded a time of 4:01.17 which was good enough for the individual championship in the event. Pauley was followed in by Sophomore Jacob Phillips in 4:04.53 for second place. Senior Zach Morgan finished ninth overall in the men’s 5000 meter run.

On Saturday the Patriots returned to action with the UNT Spring Classic. Once again Pauley was chased in by Phillips who set a personal best of 4:01.31 to claim third place overall.

The Lady Patriots were led once again by Bruce as she finished fifth overall in the women’s 1500 meter run with a time of 4:48.94.
