The Patriot Men’s Golf Team got off to a slow start on Monday as they fired rounds of 301 and 297, respectively, on day one of the Golfweek Fall Invitational at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.  The Patriots are in 12th place heading in to the third and final round on Tuesday – 10 shots out of seventh place.

Freshman Kyle Beard recorded his low round as a Patriot on Monday as he posted a four under par 68 in round two, bettering his first round score by nine shots.  Beard is in 11th place individually with his two round total of 145 but stands 12 shots back of the outright individual leader (-11).

Also posting stellar numbers for the Patriots on day one was Senior John Olin, currently in 19th place, with rounds of 73 and 74.  Olin is fresh off his fourth place individual finish last week at the Territory Classic in Duncan, Oklahoma (73-74).

“I am pleased with the way that our guys carreid themselves out there today,” stated Head Golf Coach Kenny Trapp.  “We didn’t play as well as we would have liked but I am proud of the way that we competed and hung in there,” added Trapp.

Also competing for the Patriots was Freshman Josh Aguilar (74-76), Senior Austin Struble (77-79), and Junior Johnny Antle (77-80).

The Patriots will be back in action on Tuesday as they compete in their third and final round of the Golfweek Fall Invitational at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.
