The Patriot Bass Fihsing Team battled cold and windy conditions on day one of the ATU College Fishing Invitational on Lake Dardanelle to stand firm in fifth and ninth place overall out of the 30-team field.  The team of Sophomore Trent Newman and Freshman Michael Romagosa reeled in 13-83 and currently hold the fifth place position overall.  “It was an absolute grind out there today, we gave it all we and made several changes out there on the water – very happy to be fishing out of our Legend Boats on days like today,” stated Newman.

Sophomore Jacob Sepeda and Freshman Chase Winston hold the ninth place position after netting 10-73 worth of fish, just three pounds shy of their teammates.  “We made some adjustments out there today and look forward to tomorrow’s day on Dardanelle – very fortunate to have the Onyx Outdoors gear on board today,” shared Sepeda.  Both teams of anglers, led by Newman and Sepeda, will look for a big day on Dardanelle on day two of the ATU College Fishing Invitational.

“Very, very proud of the way the guys battle the cold and windy conditions and made the necessary adjustments to both catch their limits,” shared Coach Scott Darragh.  Very thankful to one of our sponsors, Save Phace, on days like today.

The team will be back on the water at safe light tomorrow for day two on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Arkansas.
