Patriot Bass Team Set for Boat U.S. National Championship on Lake Pickwick

Wednesday in Florence, Alabama, for the Patriot Bass Fishing Team consisted of a short day of practice, tournament registration, and a dinner banquet as 200 boats, 400 anglers, reigning from 29 states, prepared for day one of the 2012 Boat U.S. National Championship on Lake Pickwick on Thursday, May 24.

Freshman Trent Newman, Freshman Jacob Sepeda, and Senior Trey Bledsoe will represent the Patriot Bass Fishing Team as they will fish in their first collegiate national championship of the year and first in program history. “We are excited to see what the guys can do out there on the water amongst the best collegiate anglers in the country,” stated Special Advisor and Coach Scott Darragh.

The Patriot Bass Team will launch at 5:45 a.m. on Lake Pickwick and will weigh-in at 3:00 p.m in front of cameras and TV crews from Careco TV, a San Antonio based broadcast station affiliated with NBC Sports.  “Can’t wait for these guys to get on the water tomorrow and represent the University in our first year of the program,” shared Assistant Director of Athletics and Patriot Bass Team Coach Connor Smith.
