The Dallas Baptist University Patriot Bass Fishing Team traveled to Terrell, Texas on Saturday, September 10, to partake in the First Baptist Terrell Outdoor Expo and Banquet. The banquet’s keynote speaker for the night was 2008 Bassmaster Classic Champion, Alton Jones.

The DBU Bass Fishing Team, along with 50+ vendors from all over the east Texas region, including the events sponsor, Texas Parks and Wildlife, were accompanied by approximately 500 attendees, both local and out of state.

“This was a good opportunity for people and other attending vendors to hear first-hand information on both Dallas Baptist University and our Patriot Bass Fishing Team,” said Connor Smith, DBU’s Assistant Director of Athletics. “We are extremely excited about this new program and the direction it has taken. We can’t wait to get out on the road and on the water to represent our sponsors,” Smith added.

The team also attended the sold-out dinner banquet featuring Alton Jones, who shared a special message on his faith and experiences as a professional angler, both on and off the water.

The Patriot Bass Fishing Team will be attending the 2011 “Beast Feast” at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas, on Monday, October 3. The keynote speaker on the night will be professional bass angler, Clay Dyer.
