Patriot Bass Fishing Teams Finish in 3rd and 7th Place at the Arkansas Collegiate Fishing Trail Tournament on the Arkansas River

In their inaugural collegiate bass fishing tournament on Saturday, November 5, the DBU Patriot Bass Fishing Team traveled to the Arkansas River and took 3rd and 7th place in the Arkansas Collegiate Fishing Trail Series in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  The Razorbacks from the University of Arkansas finished in 1st place out of the 17 team field.

The Patriot Bass Fishing Team of Freshman Trent Newman and Freshman Jacob Sepeda secured a 3rd place finish with 8.38 lbs, just .11 lbs short of a 2nd place spot.  The team of Sophomore Clint Humphrey and Junior Trey Bledsoefinished in 7th place with 5.11 lbs.

“I am very proud of our guys and the way they performed on Saturday.  This was a big day for the program and I look forward to our upcoming fall and spring tournaments,” stated Assistant Director of Athletics Connor Smith.  “We would once again like to thank our exclusive sponsor, Legend Boats, the official boat of the Patriot Bass Fishing Team.”

The Patriot Bass Fishing Team will be back in action on Saturday, November 19, at Lake Whitney as they fish in the Texas Tournament Series hosted by Sam Houston State University.
