Panthers Pounce on Cardinals 71-56

After a weekend of uncertainty, the Panthers rolled over Irving MacArthur 71-56 to reclaim the top spot in district 7-6A.

The uncertainty lies in the question concerning what action the Texas University Interscholastic League will take in their February 13 meeting concerning the altercation with DeSoto after last Friday evening’s game.

After a slow start, Duncanville jumped out to a 35-27 lead at the half, before stretching the score out to a 15-point victory to once again secure the district lead.

Leading the way for Duncanville was Douglass Merida with 25 points, followed by Cameron Massey with 13 points.

Blake Burris led the Cardinals with 20 points in the loss.

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches weekly poll still shows Duncanville at #7, behind DeSoto at #6 and South Grand Prairie coming in at #19.

Still left on the schedule for Duncanville is a Tuesday night home game against Grand Prairie. The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. at the Sandra Meadows Arena on the Duncanville High School campus.
