Duncanville vanquished Grand Prairie High on Friday night, 45-6, to finish undefeated for the season and setup a 6A-Division I home playoff game this coming Friday against 5-5 Killeen Ellison at Panther Stadium on the Duncanville High School campus.

Duncanville has relied on their potent offense all season long to consistently put over 40 points on the board each week and a smothering defense to keep opponents at of the end zone. Against the Grand Prairie High Gophers, the special teams decided it was time to shine. The Panthers blocked two punts in the game to setup great field position for the offense, and returned a punt for a touchdown.

Of course the Panther offense and defense did their parts as well. JaQuinden Jackson scored touchdowns passing, rushing, and receiving in the game.

The defense limited the Gophers to just 124 total yards, 52 passing and 71 rushing, and the only Grand Prairie points came on a 100-yard kickoff return late in the game.

The Duncanville offense totaled 141 yards rushing and 115 yards passing for a 256 yard total.

Trazon Connley, Jackson and Derrick Cooper all saw time at the quarterback position, with Connley going 4-9 for 52 yards and touchdown, Jackson was 5-8 for 41 yards with a touchdown and Cooper was a perfect 3-3 for 22 yards.

Warren Callhoun was the leading rusher with a touchdown and 4 carries for 50 yards, while Keilon Elder had 33 yards on 8 carries and Jackson had 7 carries for 25 yards and a touchdown. Jackson was the leading receiver with 39 yards and a touchdown on one catch, while Callhoun had 2 catches for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Josh Delgado was also 6-6 on point after attempts and had a 23-yard field goal.

For the Gophers, Leo Rodriguez was 8-23 passing for 42 yards, while Tylexis Straughter had 23 yards on 6 carries and Issac Silverio had 3 catches for 31 yards.

Grand Prairie will also move on in the playoffs, traveling to Waco on Friday to take on 10-0 Waco Midway in the Division II playoffs. DeSoto will take on 5-5 Copperas Cove at DeSoto’s Eagle Stadium on Friday night in the Division II playoffs. The other team in the Division I playoffs from 7-6A is South Grand Prairie and they will play Friday night at Belton’s Tiger Stadium against 6-4 Belton.
