Panthers Downed by DeSoto 73-60 in Regular Season Finale

The Panthers faced off against one of the state’s top teams on Tuesday night and fell 73-60 to DeSoto. The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches currently ranks DeSoto as the #4 6A team in the state.

The Panthers kept it close through three quarters of play, trailing 49-47 as the final period began. But, DeSoto closed the game out with a 24-13 run to take the victory.

Senior Jalen Harris scored 24 for the Panthers to lead all scorers, with Miles McDougal scoring 10 points to round out Panther double-digit scorers. For DeSoto, Tristen Wallace scored 22 points, followed by Jordan Berry with 16 points and Juian Miranda with 14 points.

Next up for the Panthers is bi-district playoff action against Coppell High at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at Arlington High School. Arlington High is located at 818 W. Park Row Drive in Arlington.

Coppell finished first in district 7-6A with a 24-4 record.
