Panthers Defeat Irving 71-48 in District Opener

The Panthers kicked off district 7-6A basketball action on Friday night and downed Irving 71-48.

Irving kept the game close through the first three quarters, but Duncanville pulled ahead in the final period thanks to shooting of Miles McDougal, dropping in 9 of his 24 points in the final quarter. McDougal led all scorers with 24 points.

Also hitting double-digit scoring for Duncanville was Erik Talton with 10 points.

Tyler Watkins was big on the defensive side with 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block to go along with this 9 points.

For Irving, Anthony Union (14 points), and Tre Nelson (13 points), led Tiger scorers.
