Panthers Defeat Cedar Hill 84-65

Leading up to Friday’s game, social media chatter coming up Highway 67 to Duncanville was that the Longhorns had plans to plans to act as spoiler and reclaim some of their glory against the Panthers. That did not happen as the Panthers controlled the game from the opening tip and sent Cedar Hill back down Highway 67 with a stinging 84-54 loss.

The win moves Duncanville to a 9-0 district record and a one game lead over DeSoto in the 7-6A standings.

Duncanville led throughout the game, taking a 32-22 lead at the half and extending to a 61-41 lead after three periods of play before closing out the game for the 19-point victory.

Ray Pugh of Cedar Hill led all scorers with 33 points in the Longhorn’s losing effort.

For Duncanville, Senior guard Jakobi Pearson led with 28 points, while Senior forward Steven Quinn (23 points), and Senior guard Cameron Massey (10 points) closed out double-digit scoring for the Panthers.

Next up for the Panthers is a Tuesday 7:30 p.m. home game against the 4-12 Irving Nimitz Vikings.
