Scoring was a team affair on Friday night as the Duncanville Panthers cruised over the Grand Prairie Gophers 85-60, with 12 Panthers scoring on the night.
Leading Duncanville was led Dexter Johnson with 19 points, followed by Miles McDougal with 18 and Jokobi Pearson with 11 points to round out double-digit scorers for the Panthers.
The Panthers held a 38-30 lead at the half and stretched out to 61-41 going into the fourth period.
Donald Ghostone’s 16 points led Grand Prairie, followed by Jaylin Posey’s 10 points, as the only Gophers in double-digits.
Duncanville takes on Irving on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Sandra Meadows Arena before taking on district 7-6A leader Cedar Hill in an away game next Friday at 7:30 p.m. on the Cedar Hill High School campus. Duncanville is only one game behind the Longhorns in district play.
Duncanville’s only loss in district was a 71-61 loss to Cedar Hill earlier this season. In the loss Duncanville fell behind early and never could climb out of the hole.
