Update: Panthers and Pantherettes Advance in Tournament

The Panthers and Pantherettes continue to  roll in the Pasadena McDonalds Invitational.

In Friday evening game Duncanville (#8) held off North Crowley (#4) 54-50 to advance to the finals in the Boys Division 1 Gold Bracket.

Duncanville will be facing DeSoto (#2), who defeated Spring Westfield by a score of 69-54 in the other evening semi-final game.

In Thursday pool play DeSoto defeated Dawson by a score of 77-51, and Langam Creek 59-51. before entering the Division 1 Gold Bracket and defeating Lewisville Hebron 82-59 in the first round.

The Championship final will be played on Saturday evening at 8:30pm at the Phillips Field House. The game can also be viewed live from the tournament website site at http://www.texasinvitational.com/game-streaming.html.

The Pantherettes, #1 in the Texas Basketball Coaches Association, will take on DeSoto (#16) in the 10:30AM game in the Girls Division 1 Gold Bracket semi-finals. In the other semi-final Houston Bellaire #15) will be taking on Clear Springs (#6).

The Championship game will be played on Saturday at 3pm at the Phillips Field House. This game will be also be streamed live from the tournament website at http://www.texasinvitational.com/game-streaming.html.

Both the Panthers and Pantherettes Varsity Basketball Teams advanced in the Pasadena McDonalds Invitational.

The boy’s team has already entered Championship Bracket play and took on Converse Judson at noon today. Converse Judson entered the game ranked #5 in the state in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) pre-season rankings, while Duncanville was ranked #8.

The Panther’s defeated Converse Judson by a score of 34-32 to advance to the semi-finals of the Division 1 Gold Bracket. Duncanville will take on North Crowley, who defeated Fort Bend Bush by a score of 49-36 at 6pm Friday evening. North Crowley is currently ranked #4 in the TABC rankings.

In the other half of the bracket, DeSoto will be playing Spring Westfield to advance to the Championship game. Desoto is #2 in the TABC rankings, while Spring Westfield is unranked.

The Championship will be played on Saturday evening at 8:30pm and can be seen through the tournament website at http://www.texasinvitational.com.

The Pantherettes are still in Pool Play and handily defeated Victoria East 85-16.

The seeding for the Girls Division 1 Gold Championship Bracket will take place after pool play is completed Friday afternoon, but games should start at 10:30am on Saturday morning.
