Pantherettes to Face Southlake Carroll in Regional Quarterfinals

The Pantherettes will be facing the Lady Dragons of Southlake Carroll in the regional quarterfinals.

Southlake advanced by defeating Mansfield Timberview 48-46 in overtime. Southlake was down 11 at halftime, but rallied to force overtime. The Lady Dragons tied the score at 38-38 with 5.9 seconds remaining on a free throw by Kennedy Leonard. Carroll senior Sierra Maykus hit a pair of 3-pointers in overtime to help Carroll to the 2-point victory.

Carroll comes out of District 7-5A, where they finished ahead of Keller, Denton Guyer and Saginaw. For the season, 5’10” junior forward/post Kayla Reinhart was the leading scorer averaging 12.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

Duncanville will play Carroll at 7PM Tuesday, February 21, at Fort Worth’s Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center.

The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of El Paso Bel Air and Arlington Lamar who play Saturday evening at 5:30 PM at Midland Christian.

The other regional quarterfinal games in Region 1 are set with Lubbock Monterey facing Lubbock Coronado and Plano West playing Irving MacArthur.
