Pantherettes Take Third Place at Sandra Meadows Classic

#1 Duncanville downs #2 Trinity 54-47 to take third place at tournament

The Duncanville Pantherettes were able to snap back from their defeat at the hands of Fayetteville to down the Trinity Trojans 54-47 in the third place game. Duncanville had won the tournament four of the past five years, but could not establish their style of ball against the Arkansas team. Fayetteville won the Sandra Meadows Championship in 2008.

Duncanville and Trinity were tied at 11-11 after one, and the Pantherettes held a 26-21 lead at the half, before pulling away for the 7 point victory.

Duncanville was led by Zarielle Green with 17 points, followed by Lauryn Bowie with 16 points and Krislyn Marsh with 10 points.

The Trojans were led by Haleigh Talbert with 17 points and Trinity Oliver with 16 points.

Zarielle Green was named to the 2016 All-Tournament team for Pantherettes and Trinity Oliver was named for the Trojans.
