Pantherettes Pounce on the Lady Gophers 90-20

Duncanville, TX – After a close game against Irving Mac last Friday night, the Duncanville Pantherettes needed to bounce back…big. With all of their players back on the court, after senior forward Zay Green missed the game on Friday, the Pantherettes clicked and dominated the Grand Prairie High Lady Gophers 90-20 on Duncanville’s home court Tuesday night.

Apparently Duncanville wanted to establish the tempo early, stretching out to a 46-1 lead after the first quarter of play. Duncanville slowed somewhat in the second period, still outscoring the Lady Gophers 20-12, to take a 66-13 lead into the half.

The second half was pretty much a repeat of the domination of the first, with Duncanville holding Grand Prairie to only 2 points in third and 5 points in the fourth quarters. Duncanville scored 16 points and 8 points respectively in the final two periods, to take home the 90-20 victory.

After missing the game against Mac, Green scored 18 points against Grand Prairie. Also scoring in double-digits was junior guard Kinley Brown with 12 points and senior forward Starr Jacobs with 10 points.

The Pantherettes will hose the Lady Tigers of Irving High this Friday in a home game before starting action in the Sandra Meadows Invitational Tournament on December 28 at the Sandra Meadows Arena. Duncanville will face Saginaw if first round action, with the tipoff set for 9 a.m. that Thursday morning.
