Pantherettes Open Sandra Meadows Classic With an 82-9 Blowout

Pantherettes to play tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. in the second round of the Sandra Meadows Classic.

Duncanville opened the Sandra Meadows Classic with the opening game tip-off in the Sandra Meadows Arena and immediately staked a claim to their home gym with an 82-9 victory over the Saginaw Lady Rough Riders.

Duncanville took over from the start, running out to a 27-4 lead after one, and then only allowed the Rough Riders a single point in the second to go up 55-5 at the half. In the third quarter the Pantherettes held Saginaw scoreless, while scoring 15 to go up 70-5. The final quarter saw Saginaw score a few more points, while Pantherette coach Cathy Self-Morgan allowed her bench depth to get playing time, to get to the final 82-9 score.

Zarielle Green led all scorers with 14 points for Duncanville, followed by Kinley Brown with 13 points and Asha Ross with 12 points.

For Saginaw, Molly Kaiser scored 6 points and M’kayla Malone scored 3 points.

The Pantherettes will take on Killeen Ellison in the second round of the championship bracket at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) in the Sandra Meadows Arena. Killeen downed Arlington Seguin 45-43 in their first round game.
